Rahul Gandhi on August 5 posted a tweet hailing Lord Ram as the ground-breaking ceremony for a temple started in Ayodhya, saying he is the embodiment of love, compassion & justice. His tweet comes a day after his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed hope that the ceremony will become an occasion for "national unity, fraternity and cultural congregation". Rahul Gandhi's hard-hitting tweet did not mention the BJP. Congress was not invited for the ceremony . Prime Minister Narendra Modi took part in the groundbreaking ceremony, placing a 40 kg silver brick as the symbolic first stone of the temple. Gandhi's sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also tweeted hailing Lord Ram. Responding to questions on pro-Ram Temple reactions from political parties, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s response was very clear. In a rather scathing response, CM Vijayan did not mince his words when asked about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra or Congress's "support" to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Meanwhile, maintaining that PM Modi, by taking part in the bhoomi pujan in Ayodhya, had failed to uphold the structure of the Constitution, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi said his attendance at the event was a "victory of Hindutva over secularism". The AIMIM leader accused Modi of making India "a theological country", which goes against the basic structure of the Constitution.
