나사 탐사선, 3억km 거리 소행성 베누 흙을 담았다
A historic moment for NASA,... finally taking a sample from an asteroid something it has never done before.
NASA's orbiting probe touched down on the Bennu asteroid and took home some rocky substances on Tuesday.
Those materials could be a clue to finding the origin of the solar system.
"Mostly we think that Bennu has materials with hydration and organic material in them from the beginning of the solar system, so four and a half billion years ago."
The probe used the so-called 'touch-and-go' technique.
In which, the spacecraft extended an autonomous arm to Bennu's surface,...shot out a burst of nitrogen gas,... and finally trapped any materials that were kicked up.
All this took just 5 seconds.
