미 국방부, 핵미사일 미니트맨-3 교체에 110조원 추산
The Pentagon has raised its estimated cost of new nuclear missiles for the U.S. to replace the aging Minuteman 3 system.
It's new estimate is 95-point-eight billion U.S. dollars.
That's up about ten billion dollars from four years ago.
Last month, the U.S. Air Force signed a 13-point-three billion dollar contract with Northrop Grumman for engineering and manufacturing development of the new missiles.
It will replace the current fleet of 400 Minuteman missiles based in underground silos across the Midwest ...which has operated continuously for 50 years.
The intercontinental ballistic missiles are intended as part of a near-total replacement of the U.S. nuclear arsenal over the next few decades ...at a total cost of more than one-point-two trillion dollars.
