China’s hotel industry rebounds from Covid-19 pandemic during ‘golden week’ holidays

China’s hotel business benefited from a surge in travellers during the October 2020 “golden week”, the first major national holiday since the Covid-19 pandemic forced widespread lockdowns and travel restrictions. The spike in bookings around the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival period were seen as a sign that the country has the spread of the coronavirus under control, at least enough to allow domestic tourism if not yet full resumption in travel from overseas.
