노벨평화상에 세계식량계획...코로나19 와중 기아에 대항
The World Food Programme won the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to combat hunger amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Nobel Committee hopes to (quote) "turn the eyes of the world towards the millions of people who suffer from or face the threat of hunger".
In announcing the prize, it highlighted the WFP's contribution to improving conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas.
The global body is the UN's food assistance branch, and currently provides food to over a hundred million people a year.
