Clashes between the Bengal government and the BJP continued on Friday after hundreds of saffron party workers hit the streets in Kolkata and Howrah on Thursday to protest against the state government over the ‘worsening’ law and order situation in the state. On Friday, former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to express his anger against the Bengal Police for manhandling a Sikh man and forcibly removing his turban. Tagging West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, Harbhajan tweeted, “Please have a look into this matter @MamataOfficial. This isn’t done.” Meanwhile, the Kolkata Police has booked at least 24 people, including senior BJP leaders Kailash Vijayvargiya and Mukul Roy, for unlawful assembly during a protest rally against the state government on Thursday.
