The Uttar Pradesh government has suspended Hathras superintendent of police (SP), deputy superintendent of police (DSP), station inspector and two other officials over the gangrape and death of the 19-year-old Dalit woman. Apart from suspending some senior police officials for alleged mishandling of the Hathras case, the state government has also ordered lie-detector tests on cops stationed at the police station investigating the matter, the four accused as well as the family of the deceased victim.
