홍남기 "11월 1∼15일 온라인 중심으로 코리아세일페스타 개최"
South Korea's annual sales campaign, Korea Sale Festa, will be mainly based on non-contact platforms this year to boost spending amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki gave details of the plan on Monday during a meeting with economy-related ministers.
He said the two-week sales campaign aims to help small business owners overcome the economic difficulties posed by the pandemic.
The event, which runs from November 1st to 15th, will take place in compliance with strict virus prevention measures and the main focus will be on online and non-contact platforms like live commerce shows and drive-thru stores.
The government will also cut tax for certain stores.
