With COVID-19 continuing to linger, citizens are having to refrain from visiting their hometowns during Chuseok.
In fact, South Korean health authorities have actually been urging people to stay home throughout the holidays, especially those in the Seoul capital area.
To help provide entertainment for those planning to stay home, the South Korean government has made an online culture portal for people to enjoy a variety of online content.

South Korea's Chuseok holiday is just around the corner,... and with the virus not going anywhere anytime soon, health authorities remain alert.
They have advised citizens to refrain from traveling to other provinces to visit relatives and are instead recommending people to stay home. To encourage them to do so, the government has decided to provide online cultural activities as a source of entertainment.
"The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is offering a variety of content online for free. Content such as performances, exhibitions and books from 29 national and public organizations including Seoul Arts Center will be available."
The ministry has integrated all 29 individual websites into one portal under the name 'Jipcok cultural lifestyle' which means "staying home" in Korean.
There are eight categories, enough to suit all tastes, as well as a so-called 'cultural portal' that shows which content is trending.
There are also some virtual reality attractions for a more immersive experience.
The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art uploaded videos to YouTube of a curator explaining the artwork they have on display in an exhibition.
But for those determined to stay fit and exercise during Chuseok, there are even indoor training videos from Korea Sports Promotion Foundation.
You could even go on a virtual trip with the Cultural Heritage Administration to different provinces with various historical places of interest.
On top of that, the Korea National Opera will present full videos of performances that were previously broadcasted live...so opera-lovers might want to take a look at those.
