정부, IAEA서 일본 후쿠시마원전 오염수 방출검토에 우려 표명
South Korea has called for the IAEA to work with the international community to strictly review the safety of Japan's potential discharge of radioactive water from the Fukushima power plant.
At the agency's annual meeting on Tuesday, the government said such an effort is needed given the massive impact the contaminated water could have on the world's oceans.
It stressed that Japan should comply with international law and engage in transparent communication to make sure other countries fully understand the safety of its plan to do so.
The government said, the IAEA should play a key role in making that happen.
