브룩스 "北 과도한 비용 요구로 공동 유해발굴, 유해송환 중단"
The excavation and repatriation of Korean War remains along the inter-Korean border have reportedly been halted due to excessive financial demands from the North.
This is according to Voice of America... citing former U.S. Forces Korea Commander General Vincent Brooks... who participated in related negotiations as the head of UN Command.
North Korea did not ask for contributions for the return of 55 war remains of U.S. soldiers in July 2018... but has since demanded four times as much as the actual excavation equipment plus expenses for additional repatriations.
Included were expenses for the North Korean workers and costs of the American workers during their stay for the excavation.
