Brawl at petrol pump after motorcyclist refuses to wear face mask in western India

The owner of a petrol station and his staff were assaulted by a mob on September 18th after a motorcyclist refused to wear a face mask.

The ugly incident took place a busy road at Manickpur in Vasai.

According to reports, the staff requested a motorcyclist wear a face mask as he entered the station to refuel his vehicle.

The staff also refused to let him fill up his vehicle until he put on a mask.

The staff asked him to move on as the queue of drivers waiting to fill up was getting longer.

The rider moved aside his two-wheeler but then returned with a group of 10 to 12 men.

They went on a rampage inside the petrol pump, damaging the fuel dispensing machines and office furniture.

The video shows a man picking up a chair and smashing the store windows, while others create a ruckus inside the station.

A woman attendant, Pratiksha Rane, alleged that the rider held her hand, pulled her to a distance and slapped her on the face.

In the meantime, a team of police officers reached the spot and de-escalated the situation.

The unidentified accused have been booked for rioting and assault.
