A Filipino man goes shopping while wearing a Spiderman suit and a clear face shield.

Carlo Angelo Garces, 32, visits his local grocery store every day in colourful costumes. He said they are his own way of protecting against the Covid-19 coronavirus spreading through his home city of Manila, in the Philippines.

''Plus, the costumes brighten up everybody's day and bring some happiness during this difficult time,'' he said.

Footage shows Carlo walking around the store in the iconic Marvel Comics costume.

Since the lockdown started, Carlo has been wearing different Spiderman suits to go the local shops.

He has become a regular sight in the supermarket and grocery stores near his home.

The Philippines - with some of the world's strictest lockdown restrictions - has recorded 197,164 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus and 3,038 deaths as of August 25.
