A naughty five-year-old boy was rescued after getting himself stuck in a washing machine while planning to prank his mother by hiding inside.
Wanwipa Chaikhaw, 29, was doing laundry while her son, Aao, played with a water basin in their house in Nakhon Ratchasima province, northeastern Thailand on August 22.
When she went out to hang the clothes, the naughty boy thought of pranking his mother by hiding inside the washing machine dryer.
Aao climbed into the washing machine, but his body was way bigger than the capacity so his legs were stuck inside as he tried to wriggle free.
He then tried to pull himself out, but his leg was stuck inside the gaps between the machine's motor.
The frantic mother immediately called the emergency services for help after seeing her frightened son screaming.
She said: "I heard my son shout so I left the laundry and ran back inside. I saw him crying, saying that his foot was stuck so I called for help."
The five rescuers tilted the machine so the boy could crawl out easily, but his foot was still stuck on the lower part.
They decided to cut the thick layer of the plastic tank using electric cutting gear. The boy was given a smelling stick to stop him from feeling sick from the burning plastic.
The removal lasted more than 30 minutes before Aao was finally freed from the washing machine.
The grateful mother said: "I never thought that my son would be doing this. I hope he has learned an important lesson.''
After the rescue, the volunteers were amused about the naughty boy. One of the team said: "This might be one of the most difficult but cutest cases we have ever assisted with."
