공기 열 활용한 난방시설...난방비, 온실가스 감축
Renewable energy such as air source heat pumps could be the new road for countries looking to create a greener agriculture industry.
It has also been financially beneficial for farmers making the change as the government aims to create a greener economy.
Kim Cheong-ah explains further.
This is a greenhouse with tangerines growing inside.
Harvest is well underway now as it's Jeju Island tangerine season.
Hyun Min-bum is the farmer at this ten-thousand square meter tangerine farm and is set to receive more than 12-thousand U.S. dollars due to a government scheme.
Hyun was able to reduce some five-hundred tons of greenhouse gas emissions after implementing a heating system which uses air rather than fuel...transfering heat from outside to indoors using a refrigerant system.
I implemented the system according to the government policy. I am very satisfied to be able to help the envrionment and also get some money for it.
Hyun is also able to save over 66-thousand U.S. dollars in heating fees.
Compared to fossil fuels and electricity, savings of up to 80% and 60% in heating fees can be made respectively. And in three to five years, Hyun will be able to recover his investment for new renewable energy system.
Air-source heat-pumps use vapor compression refrigeration. It's effective as you can get heat without needing to heat something up.
This renewable heating system is expected to expand within the agriculture industry.
Global warming is directly connected to agriculture. We will do our best to spread energy-saving technology to reduce greenhouse gases and also increase income for farms.
Hopes are high that more farms will use this system to not only help the environment but for financial gain in the long term.
