Responding to a question on whether university students were screened before being allowed to return to their respective hometowns, Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Thursday clarified that most of the university students only underwent health screenings instead of Covid-19 tests as all of them had undergone four weeks of mandatory quarantine.
He explained that the students were not made to undergo such tests unless they were symptomatic.
This was in response to a question whereby two students from the Sultan Idris Education University in Perak had tested positive for Covid-19 when returning to Sabah.
