Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham has resigned as the Perak Legislative Assembly Speaker.
He made the announcement during the opening of the new assembly sitting on Tuesday.
Several assemblymen had filed a motion to remove Ngeh as the Speaker following a political crisis in the country.
