Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik said after having suffered under the constraints of lack of academic freedom, he hopes to pass a bill in Parliament to repeal the Universities and University Colleges Act.
Dr Maszlee said that during a speech outlining his hope for reforms in Malaysia in the coming years.
