Millennials react to 2016: Orang Asli blockade

2016 means different things for all of us. Over here in Malaysia, we ask millennials about their reactions to some of the major events that took place in the country over the past year.

In September, 200 Temiar Orang Asli in northwest Malaysia put up a logging blockade, in a desperate effort to save their ancestral land. They put up two more, but these were destroyed by government officials, who also arrested dozens of aborigines. The blockades have since been rebuilt and the Orang Asli seem to be stronger than ever.
