문 대통령 "피해복구 총력…충분한 재정지원 강구해야"
President Moon Jae-in is calling on officials to do their utmost to prevent further loss of life and property damage from South Korea's record breaking monsoon rains.
This at a Cabinet meeting today.
At the core of recovery work is speed. I ask you to conduct a swift assessment of the damage and to find ways to deploy all financial possible resources, including reserve funds and disaster relief funds.
The ruling party has also suggested addressing the damage by drawing up another supplementary budget,... which would be the fourth one this year.
President Moon stressed vigilance as there could be even more damage in case of more rain,... given the weakened ground and high water levels at dams and streams.
He also highlighted the need to swiftly digitalize infrastructure so the country can better respond to such situations in the future.
