Firefighters captured a giant pet lizard that broke into a stone processing factory in southern China.

The video shows the huge lizard that was discovered in a stone processing plant in Sichuan, causing panic among the workers.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and found that the creature was a huge green lizard, more than 1 metre long.

A firefighter stepped forward and knocked the box to draw the lizard out. While the other two firefighters encouraged the lizard to crawl out from the side, then quickly put the reptile into a plastic box.

To make sure of air circulation in the box, a worker used an electric drill to drill several holes into the surface of the plastic box for ventilation. Later, firefighters took the lizard to the remote mountainous areas for release.

It’s also reported that this lizard was a green iguana native to South America, belonging to an exotic species. Most likely it was introduced into China as a pet and escaped while the owner did not pay attention.

The video was filmed on July 23 and provided by local media.
