An animal rescue team managed to rescue a dehydrated dog stuck in a huge construction pit in Pune, western India on July 25.

By the time a nearby resident noticed the dog, the dog had spent nearly a day under the blazing sun.

He called animal rescuer Saidas Kusal and his team, who went to the site to save the dog.

The team noticed that the dog was dehydrated and completely exhausted. They gave water and milk to revive it and then tried to lift it up. As the dog tried to bite them a few times, they wrapped it up with a blanket and took it to up before releasing it.

Kusal said: “Stray dogs are finding it difficult to find food due to the COVID-19 crisis as most shops and hotels are shut down. The dog was already weak from lack of food and the trauma nearly took it to the breaking point. It will be alright now.”
