Hollywood movies delayed as U.S. hits four million COVID-19 cases

As the U.S. hit a sobering 4 million cases of Covid-19 and rising, the pandemic has now disrupted Hollywood's release schedule for the next decade.
All scheduled "Star Wars" and "Avatar" films between 2021 and 2027 are being pushed back one year and Disney has pulled "Mulan" off the calendar.

If you are a fan of Disney movies then you may have to wait a while before being able to go and watch them in cinemas.
Due to the global pandemic, the Walt Disney company has decided to push back the release of some of its new movies such as 'Star Wars', 'Avatar' and 'Mulan'.
The 'Avatar' sequel was set to be released this year, but has been postponed to December 2022.
Director James Cameron said on Twitter, that due to COVID-19 the team was forced into an unexpected lengthy delay in commencing live-action filming.
He also added that it is no longer up to the production team to be able to determine the movie's exact date of release.
There are also doubts over Disney's live-action remake of 'Mulan'.
The movie was scheduled to reach theaters in March before being delayed until August. But now, 'Mulan' is listed as "unset", meaning it's release has been delayed indefinitely.
One of Disney's biggest blockbusters, the latest 'Star Wars' sequels, have also been delayed by a year.
Elsewhere in Hollywood, Paramount Pictures announced its decision to push back two of its biggest upcoming movies: "A Quiet Place Part II" and "Top Gun: Maverick" to 2021.
This announcements came after the likes of Warner Bros and Disney made major changes to their release calendars.
Meanwhile, many movie theaters in the U.S. are still struggling to reopen due to social distancing measures. Cinema chains like 'AMC' and 'Cineworld' have delayed their reopening dates to mid-August at the earliest.
