A lucky black kitten was rescued after falling into a deep and dirty canal in Bangkok, central Thailand.
Locals heard a cat screaming from the water on July 4 while it struggled to swim and stay afloat.
The Wang Thong district volunteer team rushed to help the poor animal out of the canal after residents called for help.
Footage shows the cat being rescued using a long stick with rope attached on the tip which they used to pull it up.
The rescuers calmed the moggy down, dried it wet hairs, and checked for any possible injury but the brave kitten looked fine and was released.
However, no one knew who the cat's owner, so the team let it go home on its own. One of the volunteers said: "We do not know who the cat's owner is, but it is better if we save one's life."
