UN’s food relief agency in urgent need for funds to keep coronavirus aid flights going

The United Nations agency that transports crucial medical supplies and food aid across the globe in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic will be forced to ground its planes in a month if it does not receive a large injection of cash, its head said on June 25, 2020. David Beasley, executive director of the World Food Programme, said it is particularly important to keep their aid flights in the air at a time when the Covid-19 health crisis grounded much of civil aviation.
