A drunk man miraculously survived after he passed out on the tracks and was run over by a train in Songkhla, southern Thailand.
Chawat Denduangdee, 39, had been drinking whiskey with friends when he walked home and collapsed on the railway line about half a mile from the train station on Monday night (June 22).
The train with more than 10 carriages later came rolling into the station and ran over the drunkard. The driver had noticed the body and stipped the train and contacted the emergency services.
The man was discovered under the train with with a head wound from where a metal bar had hit him.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital as they could not assess him properly while he was intoxicated.
The man/'s father-in-law Anan Wajasit said the area around the railway station was his stepson's favourite drinking spot but this time he had too much home made liquor and blacked out.
He said: "Normally, the last train would have left the station by the time my son went there to drink.
"But it appeared that the last train was late and my son thought it was safe so he went there as usual, drank, and passed out on the tracks."
