中 "중국군 40명 사망은 거짓"…인도와 긴장 완화 합의
The Chinese government has vowed to take necessary steps to cool the escalated tensions between India and China following the latest flare up at their disputed border.
This is according to China's foreign ministry on Tuesday after a weeks-long standoff sparked by a deadly exchange of gunfire between some 6-hundred soldiers in the western Himalayas.
It said the two countries recently held high-level military talks, which the Chinese say shows Beijing's willingness to resolve the issue through dialogue.
The ministry also denied reports saying at least 40 Chinese soldiers were killed in the clash.
India has not revealed any details about the meeting.
The territorial dispute stems back to the 1962 Sino-Indian War, which remains unresolved to this day.
