The number of patients who have recovered from the coronavirus disease in the country is now more than 4,800 after the Department of Health reported 159 new recoveries on Wednesday.
The total number of patients who have beaten the virus has now climbed to 4,895, said Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire in a press briefing.
Vergeire, meanwhile, reported that ten more fatalities were added to the country’s death toll which is now at 1,027.
There are now 23,732 confirmed cases in the country as the DOH confirmed 740 new cases nationwide.
The DOH recent situational report showed that there are 16,826 active cases as of June 8, “with the majority of the patients exhibiting mild symptoms.”
