May 21, the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is observed as Anti-Terrorism Day. Rajiv Gandhi was campaigning for the national elections when he was assassinated in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, in May, 1991. The Anti-Terrorism Day is observed to spread the message of peace and humanity and to promote unity among the people.
हर साल भारत में 21 मई को anti terrorism day मनाया जाता है। भारत ने आतंकवाद के प्रति जागरुकता पैदा करने के लिए 21 मई का दिन समर्पित किया है। हालांकि 21 मई का दिन निर्धारित करने के पीछे भी बड़ी वजह है. और वो वजह है इसी दिन हमारे देश के बेहद लोकप्रिय प्रधानमंत्री राजीव गांधी की आतंकवादियों ने हत्या कर दी थी. उनकी हत्या के बाद ही 21 मई को आतंकवाद विरोधी दिवस के तौर पर मनाने का फैसला किया गया।
