The Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously decriminalised part of the 158-year-old colonial law under Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which criminalises consensual unnatural sex. The bench also added that the section 377 violates the rights of equality and the right to live with dignity.
