Cow rescued from mud hole in Thailand

Animal rescuers in Thailand’s rural province of Ang Thong saved a struggling cow from being stranded in a mud hole.

Locals rushed to a drought-hit canal to find an exhausted cow submerged deep in patch of muddy land on May 5.

Cattle herder Samnak Ruakdee, 57, said that he took ten of his cows to feed on grass in the canal area that day because the drought has turned most fields brown.

The stranded animal, which Samnak referred to as “Coke,” fell into the mud hole after she tried to feed on bits of grass found in the damp earth.

Rescuers tied a rope round four-year-old Coke and pushed a piece of wood under her stomach to make a little sleigh.

With this trick, they managed to pull the poor animal out of the slippery mud although it took them nearly 30 minutes. The cow then bounded away unharmed.
