Volunteers came together on Sunday (May 10th) in Srinagar in Kashmir to feed the city's many stray dogs which have come close to starvation during the coronavirus lockdown.

The street dogs used to live off leftovers from canteens, hostels and even the local university but now, with those premises closed, the strays are going hungry.

"It was a pathetic scene," said one of the volunteers.

"I realised these canines are dying of starvation due to the closures," he added.
