A motorist was shocked while passing through thick clouds of smoke caused by agricultural burning in Thailand.

Nong Eve while travelling home along the outskirts of Bangkok when she was engulfed by fumes from the farm fire on May 7th.

Eve is heard screaming in the video. She said: "What's going on here? I can't focus on my lane. Do they really know that burning will cause such a poor visibility for motorists?"

Agricultural burning, known as 'slash and burn', takes place every year in Thailand and neighbouring countries. Farmers set fire to waste sugarcane husks to clear their fields ready for new seeds to be planted.

The process is cheaper than manually collected the husks but causes soaring levels of PM2.5 particles in the atmosphere and air pollution.
