This video shows a packed American Airlines flight from New York to Charlotte.
The clip, filmed on May 5, shows the conditions New Yorker Krissy had to endure during her flight across the country.
Krissy, who was travelling to help her daughter who is due to give birth in the next week, was surprised to see the number of people using masks incorrectly if at all throughout the airport and during the flight.
Krissy explained her experience to Newsflare: "All check-ins were at kiosks, no one working at the counters at all. Hardly anyone in the airport, only one Hudson News open, everything else is closed.
"The seating area at the gate was packed, no indication there was a pandemic at all. Everyone was wearing a mask, though many had them under their chin with mouth and nose exposed or it just covered their mouth and their nose was completely open.
"I was told that the airline blocked all center seats from being filled. Absolutely not the case! Every seat on the plane was filled!"
"We flew from NYC, the US epicentre of coronavirus and no one said anything to anyone about distancing or even to pull your mask from under your chin.
"Just beware if you have to fly, the airlines are doing nothing to make anyone feel like air travel could be safe. If my grandson wasn’t coming any time now I would not have flown and if I knew the airline was going to completely lie about taking precautions then I would have driven."
Krissy's daughter tweeted at American Airlines about her mother's experience, who responded saying: "Customers still needing to travel are welcome to. When space allows, we'll take precautions."
