Trump Threatens To Withhold Aid To States With Sanctuary Cities, Taxes

President Donald Trump tweeted a threat on Tuesday to states battling the novel coronavirus pandemic.
According to Business Insider, Trump said that he may condition federal aid to states on their eliminating sanctuary cities, payroll taxes, and capital gains taxes.
Trump added he wanted lawsuit indemnification, and business deductions for restaurants & entertainment.
It's not the first time Trump has implied he may link government aid to state and local officials with acquiescence to his demands.
Whether the Trump administration can legally condition federal aid on states on complying with his immigration-related demands is unclear.
But it's almost a given that he'll face pushback in the courts if he seeks to impose such an order.
