Kroger, the largest US grocery chain said Monday that it will make COVID-19 testing available to employees.
The parent company of Ralphs and Harris Teeter said testing will be available "based on symptoms and medical need."
The announcement comes just days after protests erupted over the company's handling of the pandemic.
According to Business Insider, workers rallied outside a California Ralphs location on May 1.
The Hollywood grocery store has had 21 workers test positive for the coronavirus.
Kroger has not provided any details about its plans to expand testing to asymptomatic employees.
