Lesbian interest storyline featuring ambulance driver Kay who rescues Helen in air raid on London and subsequently begins a lesbian relationship with her. Meanwhile Kay's ex-girlfriend Julia befriends Helen and they become lovers. On returning to their house following another bombing Kay finds their house destroyed and believes Helen has been killed.
