The novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has left thousands of cruise ship crew members stranded on cruise ships around the world.
According to Business Insider, most have been stuck on the ships for well over a month, and have no idea when or how they'll get home.
Most of the crew members on seven Norwegian Cruise Line, Carnival Cruise Line, and MSC Cruises remain trapped on their respective vessels.
Leaked emails reveal two crew members died on a ship in April. One died from "cardio-respiratory arrest," and the other died of pneumonia.
What's more, the majority of them aren't accruing wages despite being still stranded on board, aside from those performing essential tasks.
