Employees at a vocational training centre in West Papua are transforming welding masks into face shields for medical workers fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the demand for personal protective equipment being high in the area, the centre in Sorong is modifying old welding masks so doctors and nurses can wear them while treating COVID-19 patients.
According to the head of the Sorong City Vocational Training Center, Herman Bija, his party currently has made dozens of face masks for medical personnel.
In addition, his party has also produced cloth masks to be distributed to people who need them, where at present they continue to produce cloth masks covering their mouths and noses.
