This is the gruesome moment a python was seen dragging a pigeon into a hedgerow then swallowing it whole.
The 6ft long snake caught the hapless bird near the Hua Lamphong Railway Station in Bangkok, Thailand, on April 16.
Passing pedestrian Phongsak Luechachanwit was walking home when he noticed the serpent with its jaws around the bird.
He recorded the hungry python dragging the pigeon into the bush in broad daylight as several locals gathered to watch.
A second bird that was beside the python was spared because the reptile was already busy swallowing the dead bird's head.
Phongsak said: "The snake was having a big meal. I believe it will be full for more than a week after this.
''The only reason I could closely observe the scene was because it was busy with food in its mouth, otherwise it would have been startled and slithered away very quickly.''
There are believed to be more than a million snakes living in Bangkok, a city that was built on a sprawling swamp.
As housing developments grown, Increasing numbers of the snakes are venturing into urban areas in search of food, resulting in more than 50,000 calls to the emergency services each year to catch them.
