씨젠 "코로나19 진단키트, 미국 FDA 긴급사용 승인"
The South Korean biotech company Seegene has received emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration today for their latest COVID-19 test kit Allplex.
Seegene was one of five local companies whose kits earned emergency-use approval from the South Korean health authorities last month.
This kit uses the real-time polymerase chain reaction testing method, which screens for three target genes to determine whether someone's infected.
It gets a result in about six hours.
Similar kits are being used in around 60 countries around the world.
