Japan: Millions of flowers in full bloom with no spectators from virus

A sky-blue carpet rolls out to cover the hilly landscape of Japan’s Hitachi Seaside Park, with a plant called nemophila now in full bloom. Despite the great show of nature, which usually attracts at least one million visitors in April and May alone, there are no audiences to entertain this year as the coronavirus pandemic has forced the state-run facility to close since early April.
