Air quality continues to remain in the 'severe' category in Delhi and surrounding cities on Wednesday morning with pollution levels expected to enter the "severe plus" or "emergency" category. The overall air quality index (AQI) in Delhi as of 6 am on November 13 was over 500, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) which is the Ministry of Earth Sciences' air quality monitor. This puts air quality in the 'severe' category for a second consecutive day. Reports have indicated that air quality in Delhi is not likely to improve before November 15.
