Coronavirus Causes Damage to Organs
Other Than the Lungs, Doctors Say Doctors are finding significant damage
in both the kidneys and hearts of patients

between 14 and 30 percent of intensive
care patients have required dialysis or
other therapies that address kidney failure. There has also been reported
damage to the intestines, problems in
the liver, neurological difficulties and blood clots. Researchers say the damage done
is too great to be explained by the immune
system response known as the “cytokine storm." The "cytokine storm" refers
to when the immune-system launches
an attack on the body. Doctors stress that more data
is essential to provide diagnoses for the
number of health issues they've encountered
while treating COVID-19 patients.
