Six states in the U.S. Northeast have taken the first tentative steps toward reopening their economies.
According to Reuters, the states have formed a panel to develop a plan for the gradual lifting of restrictions.
The panel will include economic and health officials from each state as well as the chief of staff of all six governors.
The decision to form the panel came after President Trump insisted that the decision to restart the economy was his to make.
New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island will make up the panel.
Discussion of reopening the economy comes as signs that the novel coronavirus outbreak is stabilizing.
