IOC president Thomas Bach maintained on Wednesday that the Tokyo Olympics were still on course to take place as planned, following a conference call with 220 athlete representatives from around the world.
"We still have more than 4 months to go," Bach said after the call, but admitted that he was "confronted with many questions concerning the qualification system and restrictions in place."
The conference call lasted for more than two hours and was chaired by Kirsty Coventry, head of the IOC Athletes' Commission.
