This is the moment a huge Bryde's whale was found dead floating in the sea.
Fisherman Manus Kongkerd, 47, spotted the marine creature in the Andaman Sea in Phang Nga, southern Thailand on Wednesday (March 11) afternoon.
He found a giant Bryde's whale carcass 10 nautical miles away from the shore and sailed back to report it to coastguards.
District Seriff Athiwat Phromchit coordinated with fishing trawlers to drag the body of the dead animal back to the shore.
Initiall inspection found no wounds on the 45ft long whale but the carcass had already started decomposing and officials believe it had been dead for at least four days.
The Department of Marine and Coastal Resource's director, Prathom Rasmee, said it the caused of its death is still unknown.
He said: "The Bryde's whale is a friendly giant sea creature that can be found in the Andaman sea, so it was devastating to see it dead.
"We will send the whale carcass back to the research centre for the post-mortem examination to find the cause of its death."
