This is a heartwarming moment a dog was rescued after accidentally falling into a deep concrete well.
Buddhist devotees arrived for prayers at a temple when they heard the dog crying for help in Chonburi, eastern Thailand last Saturday (March 7) afternoon.
They went to the well and saw a male mongrel dog stranded in the water below. The exhausted pooch was paddling around the shallow water, unable to clamber up the steep 20ft tall concrete sides.
Residents contacted the rescue team and fed the dog while waiting for help to arrive.
Rescue volunteers dropped a lasso down into the water hook the dog's body, but it kept wriggling through the water hyacinths.
The team spent half an hour before they could hook the hapless dog and drag him up to safety. The locals were delighted and brought food to revitalise him.
Khun Nathacnon, one of the rescuers, said: "When the dog was lifted up to the ground he appeared to be exhausted from paddling through the water.
"We are happy that we could save him in time as I think he would soon have been worn out and collapsed. If that happened he could have drowned. It's always good to be able to save lives of animals.''
