Italy put over 14 provinces under lockdown to fight the spread of the coronavirus as the country’s death toll surged by more than 100 cases to 366. The restrictions put in place starting March 8, 2020, are expected to last until at least April 3 in Italy, which is now the second worst-hit country after China. As of March 9, the country had also reported 7,375 infections and a dramatic rise in the number of deaths from 133 to 366.
