China reported 508 new coronavirus infections on February 25, 2020, with only nine of the cases being outside the central province of Hubei, the epicentre of the epidemic. Health officials said the latest figures indicate that infection control efforts may be slowing the spread around the country of the deadly virus that causes Covid-19.
